The difference between sealant and glass glue

Sealant is a kind of sealing material which can deform with the shape of sealing surface and is not easy to flow. It is an adhesive used to fill the configuration gap and play a sealing role. It has the functions of anti leakage, waterproof, anti vibration, sound insulation and heat insulation.
It is usually made of asphalt, natural resin or synthetic resin, natural rubber or synthetic rubber and other dry or non dry viscous substances as the base material; with talc powder, clay, carbon black, titanium dioxide and asbestos and other inert fillers, and then adding plasticizer, solvent, curing agent, accelerator, etc.
Classification of sealants
Sealant can be divided into elastic sealant, liquid sealing gasket and sealing putty.
According to the chemical composition classification, it can be divided into rubber type, resin type, oil-based type and natural polymer sealant. This classification method has more characteristics of polymer materials and can infer its sealing property and adaptability to various media.
Rubber type: this kind of sealant is based on rubber. Commonly used rubber are polysulfide rubber, silicone rubber, polyurethane rubber, chloroprene rubber and butyl rubber.
This kind of resin based sealant. Commonly used resins are epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, phenolic resin, polyacrylic acid resin, PVC resin, etc.
Oil based: this kind of sealant takes oil as base material. Commonly used oils include various vegetable oils such as linseed oil, castor oil and tung oil, as well as animal oils, such as fish oil.
According to the application situation, it can be divided into high temperature resistant, cold resistant, pressure resistant and so on.
According to the classification of film-forming properties, it can be divided into dry adhesive type, dry peelable type, non dry adhesive type and semi dry viscoelastic type, which is also commonly used in China.
According to the use classification, it can be divided into building sealant, vehicle sealant, insulation sealant, packaging sealant, mining sealant and so on.
According to the performance classification after construction, it can be divided into curing sealant and semi curing sealant. The curing sealant can be divided into rigid and flexible. The solid formed by curing or solidification of rigid sealant is rarely elastic and can not be bent, and the joint is usually immovable; flexible sealant has elasticity and flexibility after vulcanization. Non curing sealant is a kind of soft and solidifying sealant. After construction, it still keeps non drying and the tackifier continuously migrates to the surface state.
