Kunming Changshui International Airport

Kunming Changshui International Airport Airport, ICAO: zppp, IATA: KMG) is located in Changshui village, Guandu District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, 24.5 km northeast of Kunming city. It is a 4f level civil transport airport, operated and managed by Yunnan Airport Group Co., Ltd. It is one of the world's top 100 airports. It is the only large-scale gateway hub airport approved for construction during the Eleventh Five Year Plan period. It is also China's eight regional hub airports and international airports Aviation hub, together with Urumqi diwobao International Airport, is China's two major national gateway hub airports.
 
On December 5, 2008, Kunming Changshui International Airport officially started construction. On December 1, 2009, the composite concrete structure project of the terminal was completed. On May 1, 2011, CAAC officially approved the name of Kunming new airport as Kunming Changshui International Airport. On June 28, 2012, Kunming airport was relocated from Wujiaba International Airport to Changshui International Airport.
 
According to the comprehensive information in January 2020, the airport has two runways, the East runway is 4500 meters long and the West runway is 4000 meters long; the number of stands (including combined stands) is 161; it can guarantee the operation needs of 38 million passengers, 950000 tons of cargo and mail throughput, and 303000 aircraft take-off and landing.
 
From January to November 2019, Kunming Changshui International Airport completed 327042 flights, 44313221 passengers and 383579 tons of cargo and mail. In 2019, the throughput ranked the sixth in China.
