Shanghai Center Tower

Shanghai tower, a giant high-rise landmark skyscraper in Shanghai, the people's Republic of China, is designed to exceed the height of the nearby Shanghai global financial center. The project area of Shanghai Central building is 433954 square meters. The main building is 119 floors, with a total height of 632 meters and a structural height of 580 meters. The parking space for motor vehicles is arranged underground, which can park 2000 vehicles.
 
On November 29, 2008, the pile foundation of the main building of Shanghai Central building was started. On March 12, 2016, the overall construction of Shanghai Central building was officially completed. On April 27, 2016, "Shanghai Center" held the unveiling ceremony of the honor wall of builders and announced the step-by-step trial operation. On April 26, 2017, the "top of Shanghai" sightseeing hall on the 118th floor of the building was officially opened to the public.
 
Many domestic and foreign design institutes, such as SOM, KPF and Shanghai modern architectural design group, have submitted design schemes. Gensler's "dragon" scheme and Foster's "spire" scheme are shortlisted. After selection, the "dragon type" scheme won the bid. The detailed design of the building is based on the "dragon type" scheme. The architectural design and Research Institute of Tongji University completed the construction drawing.
