Silicone weatherproof sealant is mainly used for bonding and sealing of glass curtain wall, but can silicone structural sealant and silicone weatherproof sealant be mixed? So what is the difference between structural adhesive and sealant?
Silicone weatherproof sealant refers to the low modulus neutral silicone sealing material for curtain wall caulking, which has good bonding performance.
1. It is suitable for weather proof sealing of various curtain walls, especially for glass curtain walls, aluminum-plastic panel curtain walls and stone dry hanging.

Silicone structural adhesive is a kind of neutral curing, specially designed for structural bonding and assembly in building curtain wall.
1. It is mainly used for structural or non structural adhesive assembly between metal and glass of glass curtain wall.
2. It can directly connect the glass and the metal component surface to form a single assembly component, meeting the curtain wall design requirements of full hidden or semi hidden frame.
3. Structural bonding and sealing of insulating glass.
4. It is suitable for bonding and sealing porous stone, laminated glass, hollow glass, mirror glass, coated glass, zinc, copper, iron materials, etc.
Silicone weatherproof sealant is mainly used for sealing and caulking between materials, while structural adhesive is mainly used for bonding. The difference between structural adhesive and sealant is the use.

Silicone structural sealant and silicone weatherproof sealant can not be mixed. It depends on where you use them. Sealing place with structural adhesive is high cost, and is not conducive to the change of joint displacement. Where structural adhesive should be used, weather resistant adhesive must not be used.
