Do not use tile glue like this! Repair can't afford to hurt

Recently, I saw such a news that a decoration master wanted to save money for the owner. He suggested mixing cement in the tile glue to increase the material content to paste more bricks. However, after a long time, a large area of tiles fell off, and the two sides were arguing about who was responsible for the loss. There is a skilled bricklayer master may have been roaring: ceramic tile glue can not be mixed with cement! But why is that?
The production process of ceramic tile adhesive is composed of five parts: Calculation of proportioning ratio, weighing, mixing, processing and ceramic tile adhesive packaging. Each link has an important impact on the performance of ceramic tile adhesive products. Ceramic tile adhesive itself contains a proper amount of cement composition, which is based on cement, adding various kinds of additives to enhance adhesion and flexibility.
And the proportion of various components in the product is the most important. The formula of ceramic tile glue is obtained through years of experiments and practice. More or less points will have an impact on the paving effect. Therefore, when using the ceramic tile adhesive, the packaging instructions should be strictly followed and no additives can be added at will.
Mistake 1: tile glue is glue
Just listen to the name - tile glue, maybe many people think it is cement and glue. In fact, tile glue is not glue, its main component is still cement. It is made of high-quality cement, graded quartz sand and a variety of polymers. It is a safe and environmental protection product, and does not contain formaldehyde, benzene and other harmful substances.
Mistake 2: cement and mortar are mixed in ceramic tile glue
Like the case mentioned above, mixing cement in the tile glue seems to increase the material weight, pick up the cheap, but in fact, it produces a big loss.
The reason is that the ceramic tile glue is firmly adhered to the ceramic tile by the intermolecular force produced by the special additives in the product. Random addition of cement will change the formula of the product, reduce the adhesion, and can not guarantee the quality of the product.
Misunderstanding 3: one time scraping area is too large
In dry outdoor and windy weather, the scraping area of cloth glue batch is too large, and the construction time is too late, resulting in the surface layer drying and then tiling, which will cause brick falling;
The mortar shall be evenly scraped on the working surface with a toothed scraper, within 1 square meter for each construction, and the wall surface shall be wetted in advance in dry outdoor climate.
Misunderstanding 4: time is too long, add new glue to mix again
Some masters will mix the ceramic tile glue left last night with water and ceramic tile powder in the morning of the next day. In fact, the effective ingredients of tile glue have chemical reactions. Adding water only changes the operation performance, which will lead to insufficient bond strength in the later stage. Ceramic tile glue should be used as soon as mixing, the use time should be controlled within 2 hours, and should be discarded after drying.
Misunderstanding 5: do not pass the leveling on the ceramic tile paste
Due to the low strength of base course and oil stain, it will directly affect the adhesive force of ceramic tile adhesive, resulting in hollowing out of brick; the wall is not solid, and the base surface is easy to fall off. The wall surface is not smooth, the defect is too big, leads to the ceramic tile and the wall surface contact is not in place, easy to cause hollowing.
Mistake 6: fill the joint with tile glue
Ceramic tile glue and joint sealer are building materials, but tile glue can only be used to paste the back of ceramic tile. If the joint is filled with tile glue, the contraction joint of the floor tile is blocked, causing the floor tile to arch up due to heat, which is easy to empty and fall off.
Said so many misunderstandings, I believe that we have a very understanding, so the joint to use special tile glue or sealant, this is the correct way to open the tile!
