What's the difference between the injection type and the barrel type?

There are two kinds of rebar planting glue on the market, i.e. injection type and barrel type. Generally, the consumption of the latter is dozens of times or even more than that of the former. The main reason is that the price of the barrel reinforced plastic is lower than that of the injection type. In general, the barreled rebar planting glue is mostly used for rebar planting and anchoring, while the injection rebar planting glue is mostly used for chemical anchor bolt products and large diameter rebar planting anchorage.

First of all, the injection type rebar planting glue is mostly mechanical injection type, which is divided into two tubes. The colloid of the two tubes can be extruded by the special planting glue gun and mixed evenly through the mixing head. This kind of glue can ensure the colloid mixing very evenly after the extrusion head glue. The specific use method can refer to the use method of inverted cone chemical anchor bolt.

The barrel reinforced rubber is divided into two components a and B, which can be stirred by a special stirrer to ensure that component A and component B are evenly mixed. However, the colloid mixing effect is not ideal due to the construction problems on site.
So since both of them are anchor glue, what is the difference?

Grade a adhesive may be the biggest difference among them. Generally, the injection type tendon planting glue is usually produced with a formula meeting the standard of A-grade adhesive, while the barrel reinforced plastic is difficult to meet the standard of A-grade adhesive. The performance of the injection type tendon planting glue meeting the Class-A adhesive standard is much better than that of the barrel type.

The code for design of concrete structures in 2013-507 is as follows:

15.1.5 modified epoxy structural adhesive or modified vinyl ester structural adhesive shall be used as adhesive for planting reinforcement. When the diameter of planting bar is greater than 22mm, grade a adhesive should be used. The quality and performance of the adhesive for anchoring shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 4 of this specification.

Obviously, when the diameter of the planting bar is larger (more than 22mm), it is necessary to use the planting bar glue which meets the standard of grade a glue. In the actual construction, and the diameter of planting bar is more than 22mm.

The content of the barreled tendon planting glue is relatively large. Generally, the weight of the two components added together will reach more than 10kg or even 30kg. However, it should not exceed 5kg each time. This will probably lead to uneven mixing. Moreover, the mixing barrel reinforced plastic needs a special site and requires power supply, and the site will also spend a lot of time. Considering the labor cost, it is not necessarily cheaper than the injection type tendon planting glue. Sometimes, when it is necessary to work at height, the barreled rebar planting glue is also very inconvenient.
